Link of The Day - Holiwood Accounting

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_accounting
I've heard of this before, but didn't realize it is now worse than ever.
some of the examples are insane !
Lord of the Rings had "Horrendous Losses" acournding to the studios "creative" accounting.
No wonder people people don't feel guilty downloading movies, it seems like, when you pay for them the people that created them rarely get any bennifit.
OK that's enough of a rant for today

Link of The Day - 600fps <$1000

Jvc-procision-gc-px100-e135785

JVC is releasing a consumer cam corder for less than $1000 that will have

29.5mm (pretty wide) F1.2 lens.  (F1.2!!!)
12mp stills @ 9fps
Wifi w/ android app
touch screen on the camera
video upto 600fps - no word of what resolution for 600fps but will do  1080@60 fps (which is alreadyahead of most DSLRs)

They are marketing it to coaches and sports groups not film makers.
Probable not great as an A-cam for paid work, but couldl be B/C-cam or used for specific shots or applications.

.
Definately worth keeping an eye on.
