Link of The Day - DIY projects

Some pretty ambitious DIY projects including: matt boxes, follow, focus systems, rigs dollies & more.
The projects range in difficulty from opening up a lens removing parts and reassembling it (to 'Declick' it) to drilling a hole in your lens cap to make a 'pin hole' lens.

I'm not really a DIY person. I like that other people do it, I reading about it but when it comes to me doing it, it's just not for me.
The pin hole lens cap looks pretty easy & I'd like to try some pinhole shots. I could do that, but I probably won't.
I f your a DIY'er (is that a word?) it's worth a worth a look.

Link of The Day - More New Cameras

Just as Predicted the canon 700D has been announced.  http://nofilmschool.com/2013/03/canon-eos-rebel-dslr-sl1-t5i-camera-price-cost/  The100D was also announced , but that is a different camera for a different post.
700-lcd

As for the 700D
First Impressions (haven't looked that close at all the stats).
700D is basically the 650d (same sensor, same video capability, same tilt screen, STM support, same fps in stills) at first glance I can't find any obvious improvements.
Wait ....
.
Wait ...
.
OK,  I've looked into it a bit more and,  as far as I can tell,  it's completely the 650D.  There are rumours of minor improvements, but I haven't read what they might be.
(NOTE: I have NOT read the entire official press release and compared it to the 650D).
It's a new Rebel. If your getting one you might as well get the newest one. If you already have a rebel I don't see any reason to trade up.
However, while I was hunting around, I did find another new camera -40406">http://photorumors.com/2013/03/21/canon-powershot-sx280-compact-camera-announcement/
