A new pair of rebels (750D & 760D Specs)

There`s a new pair of rebels in the canon world.
The little brother 750D (T6i)  & the bigger brother 760D (T6s) and they are hoping to make rebels more prominent & bit more respected in prestige hungry world of DSLR`s.
How it will all play out is yet to be seen, but they centainly seem to be the best rebels canon has producer so far. With a new sensor, and few goodies borrowed from more up-market models I`d say this is the first significant improvement of the line since the 550D (T2i).

they are list at  henry`s for preorder with a price of  $929 for the 760D (T6s) & $849 for the 750D (T6i).  My personal feeling is that you get more than your $80 worth if you go for the 760D, but that`s just me.

Now on the specs.  I`ve used 3 different sources to try to confirm and clarify the initial set of specs I found,  so THESE ARE NOT OFFICIAL SPECS! But they are as curate as I can can find.

Link of The Day - Canon Announcement Friday

The word is that there will be a big canon announcement Friday February 6th.
the announcement is said to include:
2 new versions of the 5Dmkiii with a 50 MP sensor & other goodies
a new wide 11-24mm f4 L lens
their newest mirrorless camera the M3
a bunch of powershots
            and
something more in my price/interest range2 new rebels the 750D & 760D with:
24 Mp sensor, new processor, 5 FPS, & higher ISO range, dual pixel auto focus & more.

I haven't sifted through the differences, but the 1st thing that jumped out was 760D has a top LCD screen and wheel on the back (just like like the big kids have).

No word yet on prices or when they will hit the shelves.

Link of The Day - More New Cameras

Just as Predicted the canon 700D has been announced.  http://nofilmschool.com/2013/03/canon-eos-rebel-dslr-sl1-t5i-camera-price-cost/  The100D was also announced , but that is a different camera for a different post.
700-lcd

As for the 700D
First Impressions (haven't looked that close at all the stats).
700D is basically the 650d (same sensor, same video capability, same tilt screen, STM support, same fps in stills) at first glance I can't find any obvious improvements.
Wait ....
.
Wait ...
.
OK,  I've looked into it a bit more and,  as far as I can tell,  it's completely the 650D.  There are rumours of minor improvements, but I haven't read what they might be.
(NOTE: I have NOT read the entire official press release and compared it to the 650D).
It's a new Rebel. If your getting one you might as well get the newest one. If you already have a rebel I don't see any reason to trade up.
However, while I was hunting around, I did find another new camera -40406">http://photorumors.com/2013/03/21/canon-powershot-sx280-compact-camera-announcement/

Lucky number 7 for canon?

Slot
According to Canon Rumors.com they are expecting the 7Dmkii, 70D, & 700D (T5i) to come out this year.
They are saying the 70D will come out 1st in march and the 700D in June.   I thought march was the usual month to release the new rebel models (??0D / T?i) but they are expexting something different.
The 7dmkii is supposed to come out is Augsut, the last time there where rumours of a 7mkii is was supposed to be released nerer the end of the year.
7Dmkii Specs
70D Specs (also has stuff about 7Dmkii
700D Specs ??? - I can't find any proported specs for this one  but there is mention that all APS-C bodies will get a new sensor

This is a 'full' list of what's expected this year.

  • EOS 70D – March 2013
  • EOS 700D – June 2013
  • EOS Me – July 2013
  • EOS 7D Mark II – August 2013
  • EOS 3D – October 2013
There where also reports last fall that there is a 40mp + body in development with no time line for announcment or release. (just threw that in for fun:)These are of course Rumours, from a site that is called Canon "Rumors".com but it's fun to speculate.
