Summerfolk | The Countdown has begun

That's right, the countdown to Summerfolk has begun.

Sixty weeks from today we will be leaving for Summerfolk 2021. I know it's a long countdown but, that's not going to stop me.

There's been various ideas about what to do to mark this year's Summerfolk weekend. We have about 8 weeks to figure out how we're going to do that.

Summerfolk 2017 in 60 Seconds

A quick little slideshow of photos from Summerfolk 2017.
All the photos are being posted on Flickr. One photo a day until they're done.

This type of slideshow (each photo for a very short time, pan & zoom, no style elements) is something I saw years ago and liked. So, I tried it & liked the results, but it's so easy to over use or to use for something that doesn't fit the stripped down style.

It seems to work pretty well for Summerfolk. I think it could almost go a little faster.
Any thoughts?

Christmas . . . Still?

Yep!  . . . .  well, Sort Of.

Today is Epiphany, which is the traditional end to the Christmas Season.

The Twelve Days of Christmas are done, the Yule lads have all gone back to their cave til next December & regular work should resume on Monday.  At least that was the tradition. Today most of us went back to work long ago.

This is my last Christmas post for a while. (I do have a folder for next year already)
A few pics to wrap up the season that's return seems to already be looming on the horizon.
I think the retail world is  planning to start their Christmas displays right  before Easter this year.
OK, that might not be completely accurate, but it's not too far from the truth.

"Bland January"
"Merry Christmas"
So,
"Merry Christmas" is over
"Bland January" is here.

(actually, I could use a bit of bland after all that food)

Pic-of-The-day December 31 | Christmas Concert pt2

Pic-of-The-day

A few more photos from the Special Christmas concert at St. Mark Church (Anglican in N.O.T.L. Ontario) to celebrate the retirement of Michael Tansley as organist.

We got reserve tickets in the balcony from Michael's husband barney.  The view was great, (best seats in the house) but it made it a bit difficult to get close up shots with the gear I had, Guess I should have planned a bit better.

At the end of the day the concert was great & I got some good photos.

*As a bonus I got to say Hi to Dracula (Allan Louis who played Dracula at the Shaw festival). It's not often you run into Dracula in a church.

You can see the rest of the photos in this flickr album.

PoTd - December 30 - Christmas Concert

Christmas Concert at St. Marks Anglican Church in Niagara-On-The-Lake.

Here is a selection from the Special Christmas concert at St. Mark Church (Anglican in N.O.T.L. Ontario) to celebrate the retirement of Michael Tansley as organist.

I have a whole album of photos from the concert on flickr.

I wasn't really planning to shoot the concert (maybe just a snap or two)  so I didn't make any preparations or bring any gear. This left me with limited options, but all in all they turned out alright.
